In an effort to adhere with social distancing and prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, along with following compliance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the State of Indiana, as of March 24th WorkOne offices in NW Indiana will be closed until further notice.
Career Advisers and Business Service Representatives will continue to be available for virtual one-on-one meetings and phone calls with jobseekers and employers.
REGARDING UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE BENEFITS
Hoosiers should file for unemployment benefits online through the Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD) at www.unemployment.in.gov. They can also call the Help Hotline at 1-800-891-6499. Those currently receiving benefits through RESEA and who have received letters to attend orientation workshops at their local WorkOne are now exempt from doing so until further notice.
If you lost your job or have been laid off due to COVID-19 and
are unsure if you qualify–you should still apply.
For more DWD updates and further unemployment benefit information, answers to frequently asked questions, and general updates during the COVID-19 period visit www.in.gov/dwd/19.htm.
