Project Manager Cicely Morgan Wilson leads U.S. Department of Labor-funded initiative supporting successful reentry through workforce development.
Gary, Ind. — The Center of Workforce Innovations (CWI) is helping justice-involved individuals throughout Northwest Indiana build successful futures through Pathway Home 6, a U.S. Department of Labor-funded grant designed to prepare participants for employment before release and provide continued support as they transition back into their communities.
Through partnerships with employers, training providers, and community organizations across Lake, Porter, LaPorte, Jasper, Newton, Pulaski, and Starke counties, Pathway Home 6 connects justice- involved adults aged 18 and over with career training, workforce readiness services, employment opportunities, and supportive resources that reduce barriers to long-term success.
By combining pre-release planning with post-release support, the program helps individuals gain the skills, confidence, and connections needed to secure meaningful employment and successfully reenter the Region’s workforce.
Leading those efforts is Project Manager Cicely Morgan Wilson, who works closely with participants and community partners to ensure everyone has access to the resources and supportive services needed to create a new road forward. For Wilson, the work is about recognizing potential in every individual. “There is no manual for life. We’re all allowed to grow, learn, and change our trajectory.”
That philosophy guides her work as she collaborates to connect participants with the employment, career training, adult education, and additional support service providers they need to rebuild their lives.
“Cicely’s mantra of putting people first really defines what the Pathway Home mission is all about,” said Tammy Stump, CWI’s Senior Workforce Associate. “Whether she’s coordinating employer partnerships, building wrap-around service opportunities with community organizations, or simply checking in on a participant months into their new life, her leadership is an example of how real change begins with one person deciding to invest in another.”
Through programs like Pathway Home, CWI continues its mission of strengthening Northwest Indiana’s workforce while creating opportunities for justice-impacted individuals to achieve economic mobility and long-term career success.
