These past few years have resulted in a shift. A shift on how people work and want to work. A shift that employers will need to acknowledge as they face this new trajectory when it comes to their workforce and workplace. Experts claim there is no going back when it comes to doing things “the way we used to.”

Center of Workforce Innovations, the Northwest Indiana Board, and the Times Media Company wanted to ensure that regional employers understood the importance of shifting, even just one degree, in order to attract and retain employees, and stay competitive in our global economy. The WorkPlace Innovation Series will provide the opportunity to ramp up and prepare our region to embrace what experts are calling a new way of work.

Healthcare Industry Zoom Cafe with Sophie Wade

National workforce futurist and strategist, Sophie Wade presented this special session for healthcare executives via Zoom on Thursday, May 19, 2022. The session included information on engaging and retaining employees in this new world of work.

After the pandemic disrupted our work routine, everyone is hearing about the Great Resignation, remote work, flexibility and what it takes to recruit and retain employees. Sophie shares what some healthcare organizations are doing to adapt for the new work landscape considering workforce and business needs.

WorkPlace Innovation Series Kick-Off Breakfast with Sophie Wade

National workforce futurist and strategist, Sophie Wade kicked off the WorkPlace Innovation Series during a breakfast at the Avalon Manor on Thursday, April 21, 2022. In her presentation, What's Next Now That the Future of Work Has Arrived, Wade shared useful data, takeaways, and practical steps on what companies are doing to adapt, make progress, and achieve sustainable growth within their organization. Wade encourages companies to be intentional about designing a new way forward to meet the needs of their business and engage employees.

READY NWI VIDEO SERIES

This READY NWI video series offers an opportunity to look inside a company and find out what their mission, daily operations, and scope of service entails. Employers and workers discuss topics including character traits required for employment, expectation for performance, the importance of post-secondary training and/or education, and offers advice on pursuing a career within that particular industry.
